labrujahDoes anybody know about special cheap airplane tickets? It seems to be $300 across the board to get to SF for a weekend and that's not good.
All's more or less well in the valley of neverending rain. Last night Annelise and her roommates threw a super-deluxe party with tons of barbecued ribs and skewers and homemade rum cake and kegs of beer. Quite a change from the old $2-PBR-take-their-money-and-wow-their-pants-off extravanganzas (which I also love.)
I had a sentimental moment standing with Jason Nunez and Dan from old Flux. Alice-Mary and I loved the old house so much, with its dusty dark corners and blanket walls and unexpected lovelinesses. Both of us remember on the walk down Metropolitan street, when you go downhill a bit and our kitchen window (always lit and filled with a jungle of plants) appeared, and our hearts lifted a little and we said inside "That's home!"
All bullshit aside, we had so much fun there. It really was way less uptight and somehow 12 or 14 people managed not to step on each other's toes, or to forgive each other if they did because we just liked each other a lot. There were so many different kinds of people, some of whom, when I moved in, I felt like I had nothing in common with. But now they are as familiar to me as cousins.
The party last night took on a very old Flux feel, when Seb and Nunez would spin Prince and Michael Jackson all night. A fitting last hurrah before Alice-Mary goes. Fuck, it's like the end of summer camp. I hate that.
I don't mind the rain but my body wants eggs and potatoes, not a stale gross bran muffin disguised as blueberry. Also 4 more hours of sleep.
