Last night Jen and I went on a movie adventure. First of all we went to see Seabiscuit, the long-awaited movie about horses. Coming up the escalator at the Court St. theater, we goggled and gaped at this amazing display -- a large "horse" depicting, we assume, Seabiscuit, made out of cardboard cones stapled together with some brown stuff (cloth? butcher paper?) over it, and a sad little fringe of fake brown mane. Also they had constructed him a paddock of white cardboard and, to top it all off, real hay.

Dude was leaning against the wall sticking out his neck (he can't help it when his neck is a long cardboard cone) in this position which I cannot describe, only demonstrate, if you ask me nicely.

We couldn't stop laughing the whole way into the theater and I cried twice on the way in. Also, the movie kind of sucked. It was all PBSed out and kept showing Average Americans in photo collages during the Depression. And not developing the story, just showing the horse (who was cute) winning races. Yay.

Then we went to see the pirate movie and Jen slyly dropped her ticket stub to create a diversion so the girl would let us in. Crafty like a pirate! It was awesome and Johnny Depp is hysterical and everyone in the theater kept losing it and just yelling out "Oh my God he's so GAY!"

Now THAT'S a movie.
