I found this exciting program at NYU called Portfolio in the journalism department, and a couple writers I am into (Susan Orlean!) are mentors in it.

Also, I am going to move all talk about shopping and trends over to [livejournal.com profile] reversibleskirt because it could use some expanding and it seems like the right place to do it.

Tonight Quintron and Miss Pussycat are playing at N. 6th at 9. If you like to have any fun and to dance, you should go. I for sure am going to try. I hope it isn't impossibly crowded.

I finally picked up a copy of the Village Voice Best of issue, and saw that:
Creative Preservation's event in the Atlantic Ave. train tunnel
Madagascar Institute's Broadway library song and dance extravaganza
Topsy the elephant
Swoon and Toyshop Collective
and Jeff & Nonsense NYC

all got writeups! I am very proud of everybody's hard work and contributions to making New York a fascinating place to live.

In case it doesn't ring a bell, let me expound. Quintron, inventor of the Drum Buddy (and the Drum Buddy infomercial), who plays the Hammond Organ, and his wife Miss Pussycat, who does a puppet show, who are the awesomest people in New Orleans, who are an Elvis-Jerry Lee Lewis-from the swamps rockin' good time.
