As some women take back the night, I am taking back pigtails. They look dumb and sporty on grown-ups, esp. post-Spice-Girls. But I am taking them back for me and you know, the downtown aesthetic I can't help but participate in. It's hard to be a trend-innovator. But I sacrifice willingly. They will be cool. I will make them.

I did this last year, and it was liberating as hell. So much cooler (in both senses of the word) than one ponytail. Absolutely.
