Me and the orange tree and the Supremes on the internet radio...
Took my visitors to a farewell picnic for the Brooklyn Riviera -- the section of waterfront at N. 7th St. in Williamsburg where we've burned many things, set off fireworks and built towers and walked dogs.
I will always remember when Mikey tried to organize a neighborhood cleanup and I was the only one who came to help. We picked up trash -- like, dirty homeless people underwear style trash -- for hours in the sun while Iggy (RIP) ran around sniffing things. We had a separate milk jug for razor blades & syringes. The mud smelled worse than any mud I've ever smelled -- no clean topsoil there, only contaminated refuse.
Then we went to the Bindlestiffs' new Times Square theater. It's great to turn the corner from the ESPN store and see a loopy girl on stilts yelling at the passersby.
