Apr. 20th, 2002 11:51 amLast night I found myself on a Brooklyn rooftop listening to a 10-piece bluegrass band from Charlottesville and watching people stomp around and swing their partners. It's the beginning of the season when you sleep late, get up slow and wait for it to cool off before attempting anything.
There are only 4 more shows (Th/Fri/Sat.) of the Bindlestiff's Wild West Gender Bender Jamboree, and then the cast is splitting off to the far corners of the world -- one to Dollywood, Tennesseee, two to Brazil and the European summer festival circuit -- and we regroup, rehearse & build in a new theater half-a-block from the Deuce.
I urge you to come see the Wild West show -- they won't be putting on one of this magnitude until next Christmas, and they will be hard-pressed to get a cast this talented together again. I have several comp tickets to give away -- email me at alitaforever@hotmail.com about it.
