May. 18th, 2002 03:31 amSaw people behaving like seals in a slip'n'slide tonight and called it modern dance. Excellent, esp. when the little tugboat with a red light comes out all on its own.
We've built our new kitchen full of air and space, and night after night people congregate around the table way past bedtime. Last night Speed Levitch visited and was very pleasant and drew his business card for me. It turns out we were in the same place at the same time one moment last summer. It was Burning Man, and he paraded with the Mystic Family Circus to the Emerald City stage and then left. I stumbled (literally) upon them and recognized them halfway through their show and, wrapped in a velvet coat, danced along as the burlesque turned into a giant party until the stage collapsed, and then we just climbed off and danced some more.
I wasn't planning on going this year -- I went three in a row and it seemed like enough -- but now I have the time (if not the money), and there are a few people I would like to catch up with out West. Ben Turner wants me to drive all the way to California with him in June. We have done a lot of long drives together, and would get a lot of talking done, and I could visit the cowboy college and drink milk out of a cow again. I would get very tan and windblown and put some distance between me and this computer and everything else.
