A traumatic event yesterday when I took the heater out of the tank and it exploded in my hand. Also the thermometer isn't reading anything (I guess it's too cold) so I keep turning it up and every time I go out I fear I will come home to a tank of fishes cooked alive.

The tiny shark and gouramie and some striped guys are huddled in the old fishbowl under a lamp in my room until the tank is warm enough. Sad.

Oh my gosh! Were you hurt at all, or is everything okay???

Sounds like a smart move keeping the fish in the bowl for now. I've never cooked fish alive (because I've never had a tank, prolly), but one time, I accidentally killed one by using tap water instead of drinking water. Oops. I felt so bad and so sad. :(

i had 2 gold fish, from a carnival that lived for 5 years.
they might still be alive, actually. i gave them to my cousin when
i moved to NY.

they'll be alright. fish are strong. they can cuddle, or something.

I'm fine. Several fishes were lost though, understandably. It's ok, I'm going to get some more. I didn't name them yet or anything. There are always going to be some casualties...
