The drizzling is wonderful to hear (from inside, at work). The only place it would sound better would be from my bed. Not that I'm complaining -- I need all the work I can get.

Yesterday was my first full day off in a long time. At the risk of being terribly boring:
made buttons
took and sent sample photos for new website (coming soon!) and talked to my new webmaster about the design a little
read all the newspapers and magazines and books in the house
made tacos
finished reading the manuscript I'm editing freelance. Oh good lord it's terrible.

This fellow is paying me to edit his memoir and...let's just say I'm earning my keep just by thinking up a few positive things to say. It's like an illustration of why regular people SHOULD NOT WRITE MEMOIRS. Unless of course they can make a regular life insightful and funny and poignant -- the opposite of this guy.

He details the most boring episodes of his life, and recounts experiences like staying with his dad for a summer as a kid, and then is all "Oh, the abuse was so terrible. He never hit me or anything, but he was awfully mean and made me feel bad because I am so fragile and in need of love."

While reading this I fell asleep (in self-defense) with all the lights on for like 4 hours and woke up at 9 at night, oops.

I went to see this band Stupid, who are ok.
Cons:
They use accordion, but as a gimmick. You can barely hear it and she can barely play it. (sorry, it's true.)
Pretty mediocre/standard pop/rock

Pros:
They gave out goodie bags with stickers they'd made out of a strip of duct tape with "Stupid" written on it in sharpie marker, and cookies the singer had stayed up all night making. Now that is awesome. Goodie bags are fucking exciting.
They covered a Violent Femmes song, which makes me happy.

And then I sat around and gossiped with Sara Valentine and Kris and their rambunctious large pit bull who loves to jump in your face and kiss you aggressively.
