Mar. 18th, 2003 03:15 pmI'm not sure what to share here these days.
The employment situation is looking up; the school might put me on some extra hours. Part-time is the life.
I went to some overpriced vintage stores in the LES last night, partly as research and partly just to covet. Well, I know where all the good thrift in NYC goes now. It doesn't seem like the $65 Gunne Sax dresses are flying off the racks these days, though.
pomegranite, they were trying to sell crocheted hats like yours for $100! They had a tighter knit around the bottom and no brim really, and a flower.
Jen, we have to get out of town to do some thrifting soon. We'll get you a new track suit.
Oh also, I filled in as bodyguard for my friend's band, Liquid Tapedeck, at Arlene Grocery. They are a couple of ranty semi-political pranksters who use a lot of gimmicks (such as having a bodyguard, and the bass player only pretends to play along to prerecorded tracks.) It wasn't too bad, and fit in nicely with the rest of my performance resume -- a long and storied career of mostly standing on the side of the stage (holding feather fans for Bonnie Dunn, presenting prizes, pretending to look sad in the circus, etc.) Pretty soon I will be ready to be one of those women on Let's Make a Deal who wheel platforms around. Except I want to work on Jeopardy, I love that show.
