labrujahOMG draining my disgusting opaque green aquarium is the grossest thing ever you have to get a tube and PUT YOUR MOUTH ON IT AND SUCK.

Date: 2003-03-25 05:10 pm (UTC)you submerge the entire tube in the aquarium and fill it with water. then put your thumb over the small end, hold the vacuum part so it stays under the water [like when you're cleaning] and as long as the small end is at a lower elevation than the tank, the cyphon will start running as soon as you take your thumb off the it. like, i usually put a bucket on the floor and that works.
does that make sense? when i was growing up it was my job to clean the tank and i always thought i had to start it that way and then i was aquarium-sitting for a friend a couple years ago and this scientific accident happened and i was SO RELIEVED!
