labrujahThis weekend was good though plagued by fits of social anxiety where I only wanted to stay in my house with my nice roommates and make cookies.
I did drag myself out to a neighborhood party full of people I have known for a few years who are both great and inspiring and also "my scene." For some reason this made me feel weird, maybe because it is exactly the same as what I was doing a year or two years ago. But, you know, one is silver and the other gold etc.
Same deal last night when I went to see my friend Crispian who's visiting from SF. I haven't seen him in about five years so I guess I just didn't know what to expect. Of course he and his girlfriend are fine and nice and we had a little chat. No reason to be paranoid.
Sometimes I'm just thin-skinned and can't endure 20 minutes of conversation with people I don't know really well. But most of the time I'm into it.
p.s. I am going to be a bartending instructor! I will be passing along the fine art of bartending to the next generation. Hahah.

honestly, meeting your friend jen slinky made showing up at your place easy! anyone could be made comfortable around that girl.
