40 minutes to go and I'm starting to lose it. I think it's the fluorescent lights.

Last night I went to Otto's Shrunken Head, the tiki bar that replaced Barmacy, and the night before I was at Union Pool. Conclusion: Rockabilly is weird. I mean, the music is good. 50's clothes are good. But there is such a thing as too much verisimilitude. And conformity. When all the dudes have Elvis hairdos and all the ladies have very bright precise red lipstick on and that wavy hairdo? I feel like I'm at some nightmare combination of a fake-retro diner and the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

bleh i went to that bar late last year and was not impressed. i am not into this whole rockabilly/tiki lounge thing. should i drink a pina colada while i add more pomade to my pompadour? i'm confused.
