May. 28th, 2003 07:36 pmGray Dog Cafe, W. Village, Carmine St.: Very big (a two-hander) and chocolatey, more of a chocolate stratified throughout the cookie than a chip. Overall, overwhelming.
Deli cati-corner to Bryant Park: Medium-sized, at first very promising and alluring, with a corner dipped into extra chocolate. Upon consumption, this cookie proved powdery and tasteless. A poor showing after a much-anticipated beginning.
Flying Saucer Cafe on Atlantic Ave.: Inexplicably very brown. With nuts, which I like, but troubling to the purist. Not really sweet enough, and a weird texture.
The New Era Cafe on Broadway b/w Prince and Spring: Best Chocolate Chip Cookie yet! Sugary and a little chewy. Yum yum yum.
