My awesome friends who do a pirate puppet show are touring with the Wau-Wau Sisters who opened for Le Tigre's last tour...anyhow they need some suggestions for booking shows in Vancouver, Seattle and Portland. (also between Texas & NYC)
hydrozoa!
badbargain! You are in the know. Where are some good places they can play? Preferably small, punk, good places. I know they spoke to someone from Dante's Inferno, but I guess the problem is that the venues like that are like "you have to have a booking agent and be at the booking agent show once a year" which is stupid.
They want to know good underground places, any kind of place.
They are completely hysterical and brilliant and you will be so glad they are there. I will put their url up when I get it. But the Wau Wau Sisters are also great and one of them is my trapeze teacher!

Anyway...
PDX- Good places are The Blackbird (http://www.theblackbird.org) (21+ club, not that underground, but very appropriate methinks... Chantelle their booking gal is a peach pie), Disjecta (no website, but excellent, excellent space- contact Brian at disjecta@attbi.com), Million, which is an adjacent space and equally wonderful (try Nate Preston at theehumanshield@yahoo.com), and possibly the Meow Meow (http://www.themeowmeow.com), which is all ages, and Todd Fadel's the man to talk to there- he's great too.
SEATTLE- I might know a girl who might be booking at the Crocodile. Also have a friend, Sam (sam @ thedeadscience.com) who books a monthly experimental series for the Center for Contemporary Arts in Seattle - very interesting shows there. Lastly, it's worth a mention to Zac Pennington, who does the Slender Means Society. I'm not sure how to contact him though, but I could ask around.
Are they interested in doing anything in Olympia too?
