labrujahToday a little old guy gets on the subway and goes "Is there room for me here?" I look up from my book as I scoot over and notice that not only is he a little old guy in shorts and polo shirt, he is also TATTOOED FROM HEAD TO FOOT.
Like, color images all over the back of his bald head and down his arms and legs too.
I had to immediately get off the train, but my imagined ideal reaction (instead of looking back down at my book and trying to pretend I didn't notice anything then sneaking peeks) would be to go "Wow, you are amazing" and then find out if he was in the sideshow. Next time.
Damn the NY-ultra-blase reactions that have become programmed in me.
