I think I have a flea bite.

I agree w/ razorart, Mermaid Parade was valiant and stoic but I got miserably wet and whiny. So much so that I ended up holing up chez Alita with my girl posse (Jesse, Emily, Dana and Ben, who yes, counts as part of the girl posse), where we made soup and watched THE SCARIEST MOVIE, the Ring.

I don't even want to talk about it, because it freaked me the fuck out. Like, that was Saturday, and last night I couldn't get to sleep because the images kept being in my head, JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIE.

Then we played cards and ate ice cream and had a big sleepover. Staying in is the best.

I was supposed to go see Lisa Suckdog at some party but you know, I like her writing and think I will hate her performance, so forget it. Also I am no longer going to require myself to go to parties.

Geez, The Ring is the freaking scariest thing I've seen. My best girlfriend and I watched it one night and still freak ourselves out any time we're alone in a dark room.

I felt really bad not going to the parade, but I did perform at the after-party, so I felt good about supporting the cause. The after-party was cool. Valiant stoicism turned to drunken gleeful benign agression.

Lisa Suckdog has written and done a few cool things, but she was completely vitriolic to a friend of mine, dedicating issues of Rollerderby to slagging her, and personally she just rubs me the wrong way. I think she'd overrated I'm quite sure you didn't miss much. Good for you for not requiring yourself to go to stuff.

All the stuff I hear about her makes her sound sort of fascinating and sort of repellent as a person.

I hope I'll meet you one of these Coney nights. I'm going to try to make the next This or That.

I don't know. She didn't leave much of an impression on me, but some of my friends really like her, and she HAS actually written nice things about a few people I like. I don't think she's without talent, just overrated and quite underhanded and morbidly catty.
If I'm not stuck at the dive I work at, I'm going to this Friday's This Or That with Babmi and Jo Boobs. It would be rockin' to meet you!

I usually never rent scary movies so this one was like, extra-scary because I'm not inoculated. Also it was pretty quality all the way through. Who would have though bad student film images could be SO CREEPY?

i know. i KNOW. we saw it in the theater ( i looove scary movies) then had to spend the night at my parent's FARM. with a BARN. it was fucking terrifying.
