Today in New York City it has been very hot and muggy. And I saw about 800 people walking around in:
boots
long pants
jackets

because they are suckers.

I got a Marcel Dzama notebook & prints thing today that is published by McSweeney's. So far it's very charming and good. It's a reproduction of his scrapbook. Also, there is a photo of him in it, and he is cute.

I saw a girl on the subway with an awesome tattoo of birds in flight. Also, my roommate Emily is the best. We have no computers at home since mine is broken. I am shopping for a used ibook, I think. I don't need anything fancy, just something that gets on the internet, will edit photos and ideally burns CDs.

powermax.com sells used & refurbished and they're certified from apple. a very reputable company. you can find a good ibook with a cd burner for about $900.

here's more: ibooks only come in G3, and you want something about 600mhz or more, with 128+ of ram [the ibook only has 2 slots and one is built in with 128. the largest ram chip for this computer is 512, so if you buy one with an open slot, you can get the 512. if not, get one that comes with 256 or more and call it a day. i did the 128 + 512 and it rocks]. mine has a 20gig hard drive and a cd burner. i got it for $999 [refurbished with warrantee] earlier this year, which was a deal before the new powerbooks came out. and i love it. the white ibooks are VERY well made computers. yes, as G3s, they're slower than the newer ones, but seriously solid. and with the extra ram [cost only $75] it's as fast as a G4. i really really love mine.

How stupid of people! When I was in Bangkok, I saw SO many women in tight black pants, tank tops (at least!) and stilettos, walking in the dirt roads suffering in humid 90 degree weather. What, are skirts prohibited in Thailand? It was just plain stoopid.

I've been hanging out with that guy for like the past two weeks! He's super nice. I got him tix to the show and he made me this awesome watercolor with these dudes ripping apart little frogs with human heads on them. I hung out with him and his wife last night!
