Aug. 27th, 2003 07:22 pmA dude tried to pick me up at the bar last night by suggesting that I come over on his day off when he will be making stew from scratch.
Which is kind of sweet, compared to most attempts.
I bought strawberry ice cream and it's blackout-style, which means it tastes weird and unflavored. Fuck man. I want my $3.40 back.
What else. The trunk is happily ensconced in the corner of my room. I haven't figured out what deserves to go in it yet. My room is too small for all my bidness. Also what does it say about me that I like to have mirrors in every room? It's for the feng shui, people.
Our house is getting more and more rockin. One day it will be ready to be presented to other humans for card-playing and movie nights. One day.
I am thinking bi-weekly meetings for drawing and button-making and mending. Like the Royal Art Lodge, like Flux Thursdays but instead of presenting art, making art. Like the Church of Craft. But maybe with more group direction? Like, today here is a pile of matchboxes and everybody makes your own tiny diorama?

Date: 2003-08-27 05:10 pm (UTC)But crafty things are everywhere! I know, we all need a kick in the pants to actually do them instead of just assembling like 4 drawers full of fake birds and holographic stickers and stuff.

Date: 2003-08-27 05:51 pm (UTC)I love B&W movies. I have a bunch on DVD, itching to be cracked. Ever see Kubrick's THE KILLING [written by Jim Thompson]? Mad fresh. I'll host the movies, you host the crafts.

Date: 2003-08-28 04:04 pm (UTC)sounds like...
Date: 2003-09-06 06:12 am (UTC)Or, it could be all based on what you find that week. Like if you get to MFA and find a trillion yards of tafetta then make a theme based on that.
Sounds good.
