Sep. 5th, 2003 01:25 pmI am in SF staying in my friend's amazing warehouse in Bayshore. It's sort of like Punky Brewster's treehouse, which is my favorite architectural style. One bedroom you go down a ladder to get into and you can peer into the kitchen under the steps.
And there are tons of skylights and a wood stove.
Yesterday we went shopping to the Buffalo Exchange type stores on Haight and a hostile hippie man screamed at me and threatened to hit me with his car because I was standing in a parking space while my friend turned the car around.
What are the secret great things and places I shouldn't miss while I am here?

Date: 2003-09-05 01:51 pm (UTC)in the city proper: Sutro Towers/Twin Peaks (the big blinky red light thing on top of the hill) has a nice view of course.
the wave organ (on the Marina) is nice if you can find it.
Nighttime bonfires on Ocean beach are a cool way to meet random people. be careful though a lot are scary gangsta kids with guns and throwing glass bottles. to get there just jump on the N-Judah MUNI train.
SF MOMA in downtown financial district is pretty cool
Zeitgeist, cool biker bar on valencia has fantastic bloody mary's
nearby in the mission, fantastic mexican food in every doorstep. i love the west coast.
my friend andy is very cool and can show you some fun times too. last time i hung out with him we ended up having crazy times on the beach with dead seals (don't ask) but he offers to drive yall out to the albany bulb. he also says good thrifting is to be had in the Mission. if you're not freaked out about meeting a stranger friend of friend you should call him at 415-846-8863 :)
