Today I walked by two flea markets going from my friend's house to the subway and oh, there goes $40. I purposely know not to take more cash than that out on a sunny Saturday, because it will all go.

But you know, I scored so big. I got a bracelet with wooden mice on it, a ring with penguins from the NY Aquarium, blue and yellow Chinese espadrilles, a cowlneck black sweater, and a lovely pirate striped shirt. And 4 pairs of Indian enamel earrings.

Also, I realized that I can spot a Betsey Johnson slip (the ones that come under the sheer dresses) hanging on a fence at 20 feet. Fuckin' scary, man. Give me a vintage dress and I can tell you what five-year period it's from anytime between 1900 and now. I can tell you what a leopard coat would go for on Ebay, in the summer or the winter. So, I'm just waiting for Beacon's Closet to recruit me.

ooh i have a bunch of vintage leopard coats that i got while working at antique boutique in like 94/95. maybe you can help me out and figure out how much i could possibly get on ebay if i put them up? i'll treat you to a few drinks as commission. haha.

Well, I've been seeing them go around now for between $30 and $100. And now is a good time since everybody is so excited about fall clothes (me too). The biggest factor seems to be the photo -- get a good model!

Bean is great. The other girl who founded it with her (who has dark hair) seems to be pretty good too. Their trainees are sometimes not so good, one girl named Kim in particular was disappointing.
