Sep. 25th, 2003 04:21 pmI got the photo hosting going finally, so here are long-awaited snaps of the kitten, and also the sofa we are trying to get rid of:

To answer your question,
brooklyngirl, I buried my face deep in the cushions, and no, it doesn't smell. It's just a little dusty. I forget what I said before, but if any of you want it, you can have it for $100.

Date: 2003-09-26 10:53 am (UTC)ok, questions-
is he neutered?
have you/has your roommate had another cat?
is he litter box trained otherwise?
do you discipline him for it? if so, how?
sometimes when kitties pee on soft things, beds, bathroom rugs, etc. it could mean that they have some kind of UTI and it hurts them to go, so in their little cat heads, they think it will hurt less if they pee on a pillow as opposed to the scratchy box. if that's the case, it can be taken are of with a simple and cheap antibiotic.
if he's not acting sick otherwise. it will depend on your answers to the above.

Date: 2003-09-26 11:47 am (UTC)We had another cat visiting, who stayed in Emily's room and slept in her bed for two weeks, but no other cat now.
He is litterbox trained otherwise.
And we haven't caught him doing it except once or twice, when we've scolded him and put him out of the room. I guess we should get a spray bottle and keep it by her bed so she can spray him if he starts sniffing around it.

Date: 2003-09-26 03:00 pm (UTC)males are very territorial like that.
wash everything on the bed to get the smell out
if you haven't already.
if he's still going after that, it's b/c he smells his own pee.
get this stuff called natures miracle at the pet store. dump that on stuff. it really gets the smell out.
if it still smells there, just a bit, he will keep going.
