Actually more on girlshop.com -- looking through it I'm totally inspired, because a lot of the jewelry they sell is kind of boring, which makes me feel better about my stuff, which is at least mostly one-of-a-kind.

I would love to get on there, but would love even more to get my site polished up to rival it. I see lots of stuff on there (going for $100 & way up I might add) which the creative girls on LJ are besting all the time.

Percolating, percolating...maybe by Monday or Wednesday (come on, it's a big weekend) Reversible Skirt will be ready to start accepting new consigners! The good part for you (maker) is that you don't actually have to MAKE each piece ahead of time and keep an inventory. Just make a sample or two and send me photos. Then when they're ordered, I'll send you the specs. So everything is custom, and you don't waste time making stuff with the risk of not selling it. And I forget what I put up there, but my consignment rate will be 25%, unless it turns out to be just impossible. But it is a labor of love for me after all.

If you crafty girls are into this idea, email me at alitaforever@yahoo.com and we will talk. I'm looking at you, [livejournal.com profile] orbitalocularit, [livejournal.com profile] annamull, and the aforementioned crocheters! Although I should also say, if the setup isn't right for you, I promise to harbor no hard feelings.

Also I'm hoping to get this cool girl who makes cuff/armwarmer things. But we're not talking lame Urban Outfitters 13 year old armwarmers. We're talking sleek velvet reversible brocade pointed lovely things.

Totally. Send me an email with a description and available colors, sizes etc., images if you got em (sized to fit 200x200 square and 100x100 square pixels would be ideal, or I can crop), and prices. Yeah dude!

I would be into it - t-shirts, tops, jewelry, etc. - but, unfortunately, not until I finish school. So get it running! :)

Well, I find it very therapeutic to make stuff when I'm supposed to be doing something else. Although once you start selling it, it becomes something you are supposed to be doing.

Thanks -- I haven't put up anything new since the Spring, and I've got a couple new designs I'm excited about, so I can't wait to get it shined up and representative.

interested. definately.
wouldn't be any skin off my nose, still can sell stuff on my own site, and I was thinking about doing something very similar with a few other crafty lj peeps.
Only thing that worried me was that I have a hard time keeping up with stuff like that and getting my stuff made. I need better organizational skills.

Well, I'm hoping to make it easy to update so I make stuff and also help connect talented people to appreciative customers...

Not yet -- how the consignment works is basically piece by piece ordering. You send me just the image, and I send you the orders, and you can ship directly to the customer. We agree on a price which is what you would like to make plus 25% for me (for advertising, making the site, etc.) The benefit to customers is that they get a selection of good stuff in one place. http://www.cutxpaste.com is a good example of what I want to do.
