Nov. 11th, 2003 01:37 pmThis morning I found a heinous 80s dress with black sequins and a pink tutu skirt hanging in a dry cleaning bag by the subway. There were a couple other dry cleaning bags with a men's raincoat and some pants.
I hesitated for a moment, glanced at the cop car idling in the street, and pounced. The lady at the deli gave me a nice big bag to disguise my find. Now that is a way to start a day. I don't know what it's perfect for, but it's perfect for something.

Date: 2003-11-11 10:56 am (UTC)I made a habit of it when I lived in Philly, where people were always getting evicted and there was always piles of their clothes on the street...
My latest, though, was a sweater I found draped over a police barrier outside David Letterman on broadway.
I did the quick once-over & snatched it up, shoving it inside my purse.
Totally fair game in the city!
