This Saturday, Kids.
May. 21st, 2003 08:21 pmThe Madagascar Institute presents:
Truck Stop
Eastbound and down, loaded up and truckin', we gonna do what they say can't be done!
Join us for a rooftop jamboree. We've got both kinds of music: country *and* western. Featuring Sean Kershaw and the New Jack Ramblers (rowdy honkytonk), Battlestar America (socialist country hip hop), Cory McAbee (heavenly), and Nick Jones (singing selections from his Cars vs. Trucks musical). With special guests the Modern Gypsies (conceptual cirkus),
Zeroboy (strange noises), and Polly Mormon and the Wives (song and dance).
Downstairs: The Golden Pine trucker two-step dance floor, with DJs spinning yeehaw hip hop and whatever it takes to make you shake. "Bound to be trouble when you mix drinking, country music and dancing!"
There's beer in Texarkana, and we'll bring it back no matter what it takes!
Pabst Blue Ribbon! Jello shots! Something else! With bone'-lickin' grilled meat in the Drivers Lounge.
Never mind them brakes! We've also got Anney Fresh's Fart Opening 3, Tipsy's Drunk Driving, a mini pie-eating contest, Shut Up You Asshole Bingo, Joe McGinty's kountry karaoke, and the return of Zero Boy and Ironica's Trailer Trash Slot Car Races, with the Ghost of Dale Earnhardt (Hank Flynn), Racine Maureen (Mo Kelly), and trackmaster Banks Clayton.
Dress down: American flags, ironic mesh caps, cliched stereotypes, greasy coveralls, diner waitress, mudflap chix, Smokey, the Bandit, the Mack Truck bulldog, CB enthusiast, checked shirts, Daisy Dukes.
We got a long way to go and a short time to get there!
