Ok.
I'm back.

As a public service announcement: DO NOT GO TO THE DIA:BEACON MUSEUM.

Unless you are into severe Minimalist art, i.e. whole rooms of just gray panels, or whole rooms of just two pieces of yarn attached to the ceiling and floor. The building itself was cool, and the train ride was nice enough, but the yowling children running through the Richard Serra big metal curves and the old Long Islandy people narrating every thought that occurred to them out loud made a boring exhibit into an excruciating one.

My friend Paul had to drag me physically out of the toy store in Grand Central because they have a dinosaur mobile there and plastic baboons.

I stayed up all night Saturday after working at the bar, which I haven't done in about a year. It really makes it feel like summertime, to get crazed on no-sleep. I went to Rubulad which was incredibly nice as it was outside and I wasn't working there. And especially friendly, maybe some post-blackout-vibe seeping in.

We didn't do much in the blackout, drank lemon vodka and warm juice from my Mardi Gras Zulu Social Club takeout cup down by the waterfront, watched Hasidic guys keep falling into a hole covered by the grass (it just doesn't stop being funny), heard the marching band wailing around and people cheering...

And the last bit of update: I'm going to SF the first weekend in September! Finally! I'm so excited to get on a plane and be in a new place and see where my friends live and hug them to pieces and party.
