Bourbon, when they make it, bugs fly into it because it's so sweet and die. Then people drink it, and sometimes there's bugs in the drink, and they're cool with it.

Re: more party. I think Emily and I are going to have a little barbecue at the bar Saturday in honor of not going anywhere for Labor Day. No traffic, no crowds, just drinkin and grillin. Maybe we will make those special asparagus skewer dealies, if you're lucky. Brooklyn Tavern, 3rd Ave. b/w State St. & Atlantic Ave., starting at 5 or 6 til late, like 1.

A dude tried to pick me up at the bar last night by suggesting that I come over on his day off when he will be making stew from scratch.

Which is kind of sweet, compared to most attempts.

I bought strawberry ice cream and it's blackout-style, which means it tastes weird and unflavored. Fuck man. I want my $3.40 back.

What else. The trunk is happily ensconced in the corner of my room. I haven't figured out what deserves to go in it yet. My room is too small for all my bidness. Also what does it say about me that I like to have mirrors in every room? It's for the feng shui, people.

Our house is getting more and more rockin. One day it will be ready to be presented to other humans for card-playing and movie nights. One day.

I am thinking bi-weekly meetings for drawing and button-making and mending. Like the Royal Art Lodge, like Flux Thursdays but instead of presenting art, making art. Like the Church of Craft. But maybe with more group direction? Like, today here is a pile of matchboxes and everybody makes your own tiny diorama?

So if I start having this meeting, what should it be called?

Speaking of naming things, I read in the Times magazine food column about a restaurant in the South called something like Fran's Eat Place. What a fucking perfect name. If I ever open a bar like I should with my new expertise, it should be called Alita's Drink Place. And it will have a chandelier.

But for making things night? Something catchy, people, please.
