Please join us Saturday, June 29th for the Opening Party for the Disenchanted Forest. Music will be provided by DJ Double DJ.

Big things are brewing in Long Island City’s art landscape this summer -- first, the MOMA QNS appearing 10 blocks down Queens Blvd. from us. Then, the opening of P.S. 1’s summer music series. Those evenings, a preview party and an opening of the Disenchanted Forest at Normal.

Normal is a gallery that could only exist at Flux Factory, an arts collective that stole two names and became fabulous. Our opening show, the Disenchanted Forest, features the work of three artists: Paul Burn, Jason Brown, and Aya Kakeda, working in large-scale sculpture and interactive installation, Polaroid photography, and mural illustration/bookmaking.

They are completely irresponsible about nature. They aren’t sure if there is such a thing as nature. They are troubled by things, they have terrifying visions and simple ones that show things as what they could be. Come and be astonished, and help us celebrate our new, huge gallery & performance space.

Preview Opening Saturday, June 29th, 6 p.m.
Opening Party Saturday, July 6th, 8 p.m.
Closing Party Saturday, July 27th, 8 p.m.
Admission is free.
Gallery Hours: Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 12-6 or by appointment.

Normal is located at Flux Factory, 38-38 43rd St. (Northern Blvd.) in Queens. Closest subways are G or R to Steinway, 7 to 40th St. See www.fluxfactory.org for map & directions & further explanations.
