i used to like this fish store on 8th st, it's long gone now. but they had eels that would twist and squeeze in and out of plumbing tubes all day long. it looked like an awful lot of fun, if one were an eel.
They can be pretty fragile. I've found that bigger fish seem to be hardier. I think once you get some aquarium basics down, it gets a lot easier to keep them alive.
Plus I guess I don't get attached to them. Except the frogs.

I would be terrified of buying a $40 fish and finding it floating the next day. Fish seem to die pretty easily :(
