We now have two small brown hamsters who run on a wheel and are part of one of the sound installations in our pre-gallery space. (You should come and see them; we are having a party on Saturday and then dismantling them forever: 38-38 43rd St. (behind the Pathmark on Northern Blvd.) Queens. It's free and will be nice.)
So, the hamsters are named MC Hamster and Vanilla Mice. When one of them escaped we said "Uh-oh, MC Hamster is on tour."
At first I was unsure about them. I don't need any more small-animal deaths around here. But predictably, they have captured my heart. At least, one of them did. The other one keeps biting me.
We have also acquired a stuffed real wild turkey and a deer head. I am thinking of setting up a mini-Museum of Natural History.
