How Far Have You Fallen: The Party

A festive embrace of low moments. A revelry of bad manners, poor judgement, and personal humiliation. An experiment in the temporary suspension of shame. With all-new rides, games, and installations in a virgin warehouse. Featuring ace DJs on two sound systems, dance-a-riffic bands, hit-and-run theater, and micro performances by puppets, machines, and incredibly talented humans.

Live music by UncleFucker (line-dancing hick punk), Phat Man Dee (circus jazz diva; Pittsburgh), Sxip (pitchshifted demonology), and Gina Kolata (math rock). Breaks, electro, house, minimal techno, Brazillian rarities, and good ol' rock 'n' roll by DJs Spinoza, Movement, Sara Walker, the Spork vs. Yoshi, Mad Anthony, Greg Caz, Gerald McBoing Boing and more.

Art installations and performances by Madagascar artstars, plus Pug, ORTHO, Sara Valentine, Toy Shop, Ms. Halo, N.I.N.E,, Axelle Fine Arts, Complacent.org, Nat, Mary Jane, Acton-Loose, Ebon Fisher, Aaron the Sexplastic, and the Vertigo Group.

Costume ideas: Fallen angels, autumn leaves, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Nixon, Martha Stewart, the Boy Who Fell to Earth, S&P 500, sellout punks, walking personal ad, Falstaff, Icarus, the Fall Guy, your most shameful memory.

Dress up. Get down. Drop to our level.

hope it's better then that 'burning man' party at the lunatarium.. ugh. though the music was pretty good the location was a total disaster. 1+ hr to get in, 1+ hr for bathrooms - it was a night of much line waiting and very little actual partying. or, as the annoying elevator welcome man guy urging us to all 'realize our unique radical self-expression, take off our clothes, be free!' - uhh.. yeah, sure mister.. anyone else here go to that?

I skipped it. Neck injury.

Alice-Mary had a great time, though.

It's Joe, right?

the lunatarium party did have a lot of potential - i'll admit that i enjoyed myself in between my extended line waiting. at around 1am i had to run out to hand my house keys over to a friend who was outside. at that time the party was way over capacity and the organizers wouldnt let anymore people into the party - it took me 45 minutes and a lot of convincing the door people to let me back upstairs where my other friends were. now i've never been to BM so i dont really know what that's all about (other then what i've heard) but i felt the BM theme was a little contrived. if BM is just a big excuse to party and smoke bongs in space age inflatable structures then so be it... "Leave Nothing Behind" other a warehouse full of cigarette butts and a few thousand red plastic beer cups? Eh, maybe i've got too much of that east coast cynicism in me. On the bright side: some of the installations were fun, I met some nice people, and thought the music was good.. the best party of the sort was this event i went to on butler street (convienently close to my apt) a while back. it was this cavernous warehouse space full of makeshift rides and attractions (fire simon!). that night i saw 30 full grown men and women playing musical chairs to punk rock covers and did the biggest floor slide of my life across the greasy floors.. best party ever (even though my sneaks got wrecked with grime).

oh no, not joe. i posted here once or twice before. i stumbled upon your blog via ffactory site.
