Feb. 28th, 2007 12:15 pm So kicking myself for not going! check out this amazing roll of film that someone found in front of their house (via
cobaltgreen. Wonderfully enough I know some of the people pictured therein!
In sadder news, the American Dime Museum of Baltimore closed:

I visited there a few years ago and chatted with the owner about our friend in common Johnny Fox ,and his Freaktorium in the LES, which has also been closed for a while now.
I don't understand it! Don't people have a burning need to see dioramas of squirrels holding guns and riding alligators, like I do? And are willing to pay a modest fee to do so? What else are you going to do, go to the mall?!
Here are some old pix of my visit:
As you can tell, I am really upset about losing my chance to own these guys. I do think that my existing taxidermy collection (of 2 pieces) is weird enough to have earned a place in the dime museum.

I've never been there, but from what I can tell the new joint mixes booze into the museum experience.
