Recently I've been feeling pretty disconnected from the zeitgeist at Flux. I'm not a big fan of video projections or sound installations. Sure, they involve work just as much as any other kind of art, but I prefer something you can see the artist's hand in, something personal and not technological (although LJ more than anything might be the best example of the intersection between the two).
But last weekend we went caroling with pots and pans and kazoos, and came home and Nick and Ben wrote songs for the accordion, and the Santacon folks made toys in the living room, and it felt right again.
I realized that if I want Flux to be a certain way, I have to make it that way, instead of castigating others for making it their way.
I think the Land of Ice is going to be hysterical. I am in charge of hot chocolate.
