I ran into a stray dog here...my friend said she saw packs of wild dogs roaming the streets.

Yup. Good ol' Detroit, about as close to post-apocalyptic as you can get.

faeryhead lived down there for awhile, in Cass Corridor... when she first saw the ruins, someone told her they were still like that from the riots and she mistakenly thought they were from some more recent riots she hadn't heard about. Nope, it was the '68 ones. This was in the early 90s and I am sure that most of them are still there. It's so very, very strange, that place.

You couldn't try to preserve a city in various states of decay and have it be like that.

Yeah -- it's in such a weird state - racially, politically, economically. Just empty -- totally the opposite of NYC.
