Just received a query letter for a book about grieving and the aftermath of the death of a child.

Okay. The letter's pretty normal, like "I run a newsletter for a support group for grieving parents and I'd like to expand my writings into a book. Blah blah let me know if you're interested."

"P.S. The intensity of grieving for a dead child will draw people to this book."

Oh really? Hm.

Self-help books really aren't my thing. I guess I just never read one before (except the Ophelia one about teenage girls).

not my thing either, but my boss is the family and parenting guru here.

there's an audience for almost everything, sadly enough.

Dead children are like money in the bank.
