I am supposed to go to bed but I am fighting it.

Other things that happened today:
went to post office
coveted many lovely items that are ON SALE.
purchased earrings as all of mine are either singular or too dramatic
resolved to make things and get apprenticed to lady who makes things
went into bookstore to ask friend for job
considered going to FIT. But see, I am sloppy. But maybe I would love it.
figured out camera stuff, posted new things to Ebay
wondered when I will ever live somewhere were I can't fucking hear my roommates doing everything they're doing all the time.

Not bad for a lethargic unemployed layabout.
Tomorrow: haircut! girl-pampering!
date with Sara V. my favorite gossip queen to see a special aerialist in the circus.

I gave up being wild somewhere along the way between being depressed in Queens and getting up at 8 a.m. every day. I am just now realizing that I miss it. Darby knew me back when I would rage all night with losers and strange women in dubious circumstances and shudder into work at 10 the next morning smelling of gin with glitter rubbing off me. I forgot all about it.

Which classes?
I don't even know where to start...
I would love to hear about how you decided to do that -- I guess I just want to learn how to construct clothes. I don't know where I would go from there -- make my own small line? I love handmade stuff.

I just saw your reply to this! I'm taking the class you mentioned in your more recent post (ladies tailoring, the beginning class). I'll be taking the saturday afternoon section.

I'm coming form a very similar place as you. I make all this weird haphazard crap that I can (almost) never wear. I've even tried patterns! They're harder!

I do have some basic sewing experience and I have a sewing machine. I make bags and pillows and real basic stuff like crazy. (and they come out ok). I'm ready to move up though.

I'm also trying to get into the basic headwear design class, but it's full right now. I REALLY want to get in it though......

I would love to do something like a handmade line of clothes, but real specialized. like just shirts or skirts (or hats!) to start with. I feel like I just need to find a little direction first. hopefully this class will help me with that.m

Hats are so amazing. People don't wear hats enough. There was a shop in the Union Square bazaar with really great cloche-style felt hats. I want to make hats with birds and flowers and stuff on them.

sigh, I've been looking for some of those white (fake) doves made out of feathers to put on a hat.....I haven't seen any in the shops on 38th street, but maybe I just haven't hit the right shop yet?!

I made the headpiece I wore when I got married last year out of all these flowers from the dollar store & I bought a wire frame and some tulle for a veil. it was very fun to make! now I just need more events to wear hats like that :)
