labrujahAwesome. I have to go make some dinner soon or else I will expire in front of this terrible laptop of hunger and frostbite.
Last night there was this beautiful table outside by the dumpster. Very big, like a dining table for 6 or so, or a drafting desk. It fits perfectly in my latest project, setting up a workbench to keep me from slacking with trips to Kmart for pliers and spray paint or whatever.
I grabbed Darby's brother off the warm couch and made him help me wrestle the thing up 3 flights. Did I mention the legs are welded black iron? So lovely, so heavy.
We get it upstairs and, lucky me, it won't fit through the extra-narrow front door. I unscrew the top and take that in, ok. We maneuver the legs every which way and manage to jam it mostly in the door in such a way that if the door wasn't there, we could get it. So I grab a drill and start taking the hinges off. No dice, the screws are stripped. We have to take it all the way back down and put it back by the dumpster (so sad.) It is still there looking forlorn and perfect and topless.

i had a similar experience when i moved into my apartment. such a fucking let down.
